Lortu Software, S.L. and DataSafe Services Ltd. have joined forces to integrate Kondar Byte-level Delta Patching Technology into DataSafe's iBUS software in order to improve DataSafe’s offsite backup solution.

Bilbao, Spain, October 12, 2006 – Lortu Software S.L., a leading provider of Byte-level Delta Patching Technology, announced today the agreement with DataSafe Services, a UK based specialist in professional management of secure offsite data backups. By way of this agreement, DataSafe announces the inclusion of a customized version of Lortu's Kondar Byte-level Delta Patching component in DataSafe's iBUS software.

Standard backup applications use an incremental or differential backup procedure that stores the entire file that has changed since the last backup, even if only a single byte of data has changed in that file’s structure, regardless of how large the file is.

Kondar on the other hand, analyzes the content of files and saves only the modified data, which means the backup file could be 10 to 100 times smaller than a standard backup file. Kondar is also very fast: it creates these incremental backups at a throughput of around 100Mbps.
