Unlike text-based search technology currently used in the Internet (such as Google), we have created what we consider to be the next generation of Internet search engines: that based on content.

This is what we refer to as: Content Search vs. Text Search.

Webila technology allows searching for specific information in web pages (static as well as dynamic) and search engines of any type. We are not referring to looking for a word or sentence, but searching for contents: product prices, schedules, names, brands, models, and links, etc.

For example, if we search on the Mercedes on present day search engines, we might receive the following results:

• The history of the Mercedes-Benz Company
• Car data from 50 years ago
• Information on a rally in South Africa where a vehicle of this trade mark was included.
• The biography of a woman with this name.

However, what we wanted to find was something much more specific:

• A table with prices for comparison of a Mercedes minibus model named Sprinter sold by dealers located in the Paris area.
• The technical features of the engine of a certain model.
• The list of telephone numbers of women with this name in the city of Boston

Webila Technology is not an end product but a technology designed so that any manufacturer of software or Internet services can integrate it into its applications and offer it to their customers. Additionally, you get the advantage of having a fixed cost and being free from royalties or costs in terms of the number of successful queries.

Webila is a Content Search robot. Certainly we are in agreement with Larry Page, one of the founders of Google, when he defines that the perfect search engine: “understands exactly what you mean and gives you back exactly what you want”. We believe that Content Search technology answers this desire precisely and we seek to achieve this goal.

In addition to finding specific information from web pages (prices, schedules, texts, links, etc.) the system is able to make requests of several pages to obtain this information even when pages are dynamically generated by other search engines.

One of the objectives is that by completing a single web form, the system returns information provided by several search engines of like type. This technology has application for the creation of practically any type of information search service on the Internet.

The system is broken down into the following modules:

1- WebService. This module enables search requests to be made from any local or remote software to the search robot module and the results to be returned.

2- Search Robot. Given a search description and the input data provided by the Webservice, the desired results are obtained by making a real-time query to the web server containing the information of the search. The results are then returned to the WebService in a format allowing for the information to be easily processed and visualized.

3- WebService Client. This is normally a search portal, but it may also be an independent software application which uses the services of the WebService. It sends the data provided by the WebService user and displays the results of the search in the desired format.
